Capital One

Capital One’s headquarters set out to reimagine its reception and lobby as more than a pass-through space. With massive LED canvases already integrated into the architecture, including a curved ribbon display, a two-story wall behind reception, and a striking feature wall in the atrium, the next step was to create content that elevated the entire environment. The goal was to craft visuals that felt immersive and calming, while enhancing the design of the space and leaving a lasting impression on everyone who walked through.

The Concept

We created the Virtual Living Plant Walls, a digital garden experience that reimagined the lobby as a calm, nature-inspired space. Each screen offered its own view of the landscape, and together they created a unified, immersive environment:

  • Reception Wall: A waterfall surrounded by thick greenery, greeting guests as they entered the space.
  • Ribbon: A flowing band of flowers and plants that stretched along the length of the lobby.
  • Atrium Wall: A blooming tree positioned among cliffs and dense vegetation, acting as a visual anchor for the entire room.

We added subtle wildlife throughout the scenes to keep the experience active and engaging. Butterflies, hummingbirds, frogs, and bees appeared at unexpected moments, sometimes even crossing outside the screen borders. These small touches gave the content a natural rhythm and helped the environment feel alive without overwhelming the architecture.

The Execution

The Living Plant Wall was designed as a continuous digital garden that feels natural and always in motion. The five-minute sequence loops without drawing attention to itself, giving the impression of an endless scene. Waterfalls flow, leaves sway with subtle shifts, and creatures like butterflies, bees, hummingbirds, and frogs move through each environment with quiet realism. These animals occasionally cross the edges of the screen, creating small moments that feel three-dimensional. The entire display holds up whether someone is passing by quickly or watching for several minutes at a time.

Why It Worked

The Living Plant Wall turned the reception and lobby into a space filled with beauty and calm. Instead of feeling like standalone displays, the screens blended naturally into the architecture. Visitors were met with a lush digital garden that moved across the walls, with birds, insects, and other wildlife occasionally slipping outside the screen borders to create moments of unexpected depth. These subtle visuals brought a sense of energy to the environment. For employees, the lobby offered something new to notice each day. The project showed how digital content, when carefully crafted, can help shape a corporate space into one that feels thoughtful and inviting.

Client Feedback

The Capital One team described the Living Plant Wall as one of the most well-received parts of the project. They said it draws regular compliments and brings a clear lift to the space. The lobby feels more alive, with a mix of motion and calm that gives it a balanced energy. People often notice something new each time they walk through, a result of the care and detail built into the design.
