When Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana opened its doors, they wanted more than a flashy entrance. They wanted a full-on experience – something that would stop people mid-step and make them look up. Literally.
They installed a massive LED display that begins outside at the porte-cochère entrance, flows into the vestibule, and stretches all the way through to the casino floor. The path winds over guests’ heads and ends on a towering full wall screen inside the atrium. Ceiling sections are split into three parts, each with its own resolution. The wall display alone is over 4600 pixels wide. It’s a BIG canvas. We had fun filling it.
Render Impact created three custom digital art pieces for the opening day celebration. Each one tells a different story, but all three will pull people into the space before they even reach the gaming floor.
This one is for the design nerds. We built a 3D dreamscape using displacement maps and layered motion. Gaming elements drift into an abstraction that feels almost hypnotic. It’s like watching a casino from the other side of a dream. And then on the main wall, the Live! logo appears with a kind of quiet power. No marketing. No hard sell. Just a moment that makes your eyes widen.
We’ve created our fair share of underwater scenes. This is something else entirely. The piece begins with water shimmering above guests as they walk through the vestibule. Fish dart. It’s serene. But then, quietly at first, the shadow of a whale enters the frame. It starts from the outdoor screen and swims across the full ceiling display before crossing over to the main wall display, where it vanishes in the distance. We sized the whale to feel BIG. Like, pull out your phone and get that Instagrammable moment BIG. The movement is smooth and slow, giving people time to follow it across the entire length of the installation. It’s one of those moments you can’t really describe until you’ve seen it in person.
This third piece is pure Louisiana. Oversized Mardi Gras beads dance across the ceiling like they’ve got somewhere to be. Colors POP. Patterns SWIRL. The whole thing has a rhythm, like you’re walking into a party that’s been going since February. The energy builds until you hit the wall display where a 3D extruded “Geaux Live! 2025” logo lands front and center. It doesn’t just sit there – it shines like the crown jewel of a float. It’s bold. It’s fun. It’s impossible to ignore.
We couldn’t treat this canvas like just another screen. We thought about how people move through the space. We matched transitions to footsteps. We made sure the big moments landed in the right places. This wasn’t about cramming spectacle into a rectangle. It was about shaping the entire atmosphere.
Sure, the tech specs are impressive. But the real test is this: people STOP and LOOK UP. They pull out their phones. They smile. That’s the EXACT attitude you want your patrons to bring with them when they enter your property. That’s what makes it work.
